APAI was founded by Jorge A. Insurriaga, MBA, Master Electrician, and Abel Plazola, P.E.
Together, they combine engineering leadership, field expertise, project management, and decades of commercial construction experience.
Their shared approach is straightforward: anticipate challenges, align the right people, and execute every commitment with precision.
MBA / Master Electrician / Co-Founder
Jorge brings more than 20 years of hands on and leadership experience spanning residential, healthcare, and critical infrastructure projects. He spent seven years overseeing life safety and critical systems across a 3.2 million square foot healthcare campus at University Health System, experience that shaped how he approaches every home he wires: with the precision and code discipline most residential contractors never learn. A Master Electrician of Record with an MBA from Texas A&M University San Antonio, Jorge builds his work on a simple principle, having every detail in place before the tools come out, whether the project is a new home, a remodel, or a commercial build.
P.E. / Co-Founder
Abel is a licensed Professional Engineer with 24 years of international experience and more than 800 electrical projects behind him, from custom homes and residential communities to healthcare facilities and mission critical installations where the margin for error is zero. He began his career as a project engineer in Mexico and built his U.S. practice through senior roles in electrical design, construction management, and project execution before founding APAI. Registered as a PE in five jurisdictions, Abel brings the same engineering rigor to a family’s home that he brings to a hospital: the conviction that the problems that sink electrical projects are almost always preventable when planning comes first.
